Baby Plus is an Android application designed to ease some of the activities associated with nursing a small child.
It's made up of four modules: a dual mode monitor module, a very nice baby diary, a baby activities organizer and a growth tracking module.
The monitor function has a dual operation mode: it can be paired with another Android device (over a WiFi connection), or it can be set in “Classic Phone” mode, allowing it to run over the telephone network without the need of engaging another smartphone in this activity (nanny mode).
Monitor highlights:
- WiFi is backed up by “Classic Phone” mode: if the WiFi link is lost, the monitor will switch modes automatically.
- automatic connection method for exchanging IP information.
- baby terminal takes care of the incoming calls: the terminal is set automatically to silent, if no call forward is active it will let you know via SMS that you have a missed call and can send an welcome message to the caller letting him know the parent cannot be contacted on that device.
- the WiFi monitor has a silence suppression mechanism that allows the transmission of only the relevant baby room sounds avoiding battery drainage; in case of low battery on baby terminal, a warning message will appear on the parent terminal.

The growth tracking module accepts as entries height, weight measurements and the dates of the measurements. It can represent these values both in a graphical and a tabular way. When seen in the graphical way, the values are represented against the minimum and maximum normal statistical trends. This gives the parent a rough idea about how the baby gains in kilograms and centimeters compared to other kids.

The program organizer is built around four main baby activities represented by food, sleep, bath and medicine reminders. Before setting the reminder, you can add some text which will be visible when the alarm rings on your phone – for example you can note what to feed the baby at that specific hour. The reminders can be easily copied to the other days of the week by simply ticking some boxes.

The application includes also a great Baby Diary designed to help save your precious baby moments. The calendar entries can be linked to three types of entities: notes, attachments and reminders. The note is the primary entity as it is used by the search mechanism. You can attach audio recordings, video recordings and photos. On the phone memory, the attachments are saved in folders denominated by the date of the diary entry. Notes are concatenated in a single text file.

IMPORTANT: For using the WiFi functionality, the application can be paired with Baby Plus Lite (which is free), therefore, for a fully functional package there is no need for buying two licenses. A second license will give more flexibility, as BP lite has only the baby side modules active, therefore baby and parent terminals could not be switched.
