MailWise Privacy Policy

MailWise is a mobile email application made by Syntomo Ltd. ("MailWise", “Syntomo”, “we”, “us”, “our”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information that you may provide us when using our products or services.

Information and Data:

Mailwise is a mobile email client that works with email service providers (Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Google Apps, Hotmail, AOL, Outlook.com, other email accounts and other Microsoft Exchange accounts). By logging into your email account through MailWise, you are granting MailWise permission to access your information contained in or associated with those accounts, including your email address(es).

When you correspond with us, we may keep the correspondence for future reference. For example, if you send us feedback on MailWise using MailWise forms, such communications may be preserved by MailWise.

Local Storage:

MailWise stores some information locally to your device, such as your email data and user-assigned priorities.

Contacts:

Mailwise has the ability to access your phone’s contact list (email addresses and names) in order to add email recipients quickly and securely. You will initially be asked for permission prior to MailWise accessing your contacts, and can revoke this permission at any time through your phone’s settings. We will not use your contact information for anything other than providing the MailWise email service to you.

Analytics:

MailWise uses mobile and web analytic software to gather statistics and usage trends for product development purposes. MailWise may collect data about activity on our website. MailWise may record data from your phone, such as how frequently you use the app, what actions you take, performance data, message statistics, the type of hardware and software you are operating, and others. This kind of information helps us to administer the MailWise service, improve the features and usability of our product, analyze new user trends, collect information about use and growth of MailWise in specific regions, etc.

Communications:

We may use the information we collect or receive to communicate with you directly, such as occasional email messages with updates or surveys. We may also keep track of your interaction with the links in these messages for product development purposes. If you do not wish to receive our communications, you can opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our email messages, or by emailing us at info@mail-wise.com.

Children:

MailWise’ services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without proper parental or guardian consent. If we become aware that a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal information, we may take actions to terminate the account and any information provided. Changes to Policy:

We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect the changes in our business and practices, and so you should review this page periodically. When we change the policy in a material manner, we will update the ‘last modified’ date at the bottom of this page. Sharing and Disclosure:

MailWise will not sell, share or rent your information to third parties outside of Mailwise without your consent, except as noted below:

We will disclose your information if required for compliance with the law, such as to comply with a request from the authorities, to address a fraud or security issue, subpoenas, regulation or legal request, as well as to protect the safety of any person, or to protect our own rights or property.

MailWise works with third-party service providers to provide functions and services to us, and the MailWise service to you. These providers will receive limited information as is reasonably necessary to advance the goals of MailWise.

If MailWise is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In any of these events, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the MailWise website of any changes in ownership or uses of your information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

In the event that we need to share data and statistics about our usage with third parties, including investors, all information will be aggregated and stripped of any and all personally identifiable information.

Any links to websites or services that appear within emails from third-parties received by MailWise are not the responsibility of MailWise. By using MailWise, you agree that we do not have any control over third-party sites or services, they are not our responsibility, and this privacy policy does not apply to them.
