Pick Pocket Protection v1.0.0
Have you ever been in a situation when you're constantly reaching for your pocket to make sure that your phone is still there? Maybe a fair, a crowded bus, or just a busy sidewalk, people bumping into you, making you wonder if they are crooks?
Or maybe you could put down your phone, but then you risk someone picking it up and snooping around your messages and contacts?
Fear no more, your first line of defence is here! Pick Pocket Protection is designed to sound a loud, annoying buzzer in case someone takes the device. There are two modes:
1. Pocket mode: using the proximity sensor the device detects when put in a pocket, or similar enclosure, like a bag or a closed case. The alarm will sound when it is removed from the closed space - someone takes it out, or it falls out of the pocket, for example.
2. Table mode: using the accelerometer the device rests on a surface, like a tabletop. The alarm sounds when movement is detected.
The app has a couple of annoying sounds included to choose from, select the one that you'll notice the easiest.
The built-in unlock method uses a simple directional pattern. This method enables very fast alarm unlocking, even without looking at the screen. In case you prefer not to use it, you can also disable it and just use your phone's built-in unlocking mechanism.
The application isn't guaranteed to help with a determined and quick thief, but it can protect against snoopers, beginner pocket pickers or kleptomaniac friends.
NOTE: the makers of the application can not guarantee the safety of your device. Please use additional measures, such as a device locator to protect against theft and loss.
Battery note: please be advised that keeping the alert on will drain your battery quicker, as the device's processor will need to be kept awake, even when the screen is off.
This application is fully featured, ad supported. It displays a small banner when an internet connection is present.
