The only thing you need to know is your train name/code, enter that information in the application and real time information will come up on your screen within seconds. It'll show you list of stations on the route, the expected time of arrival and the actual time of arrival of the train at those stations. The application shows real time data directly from the Indian Railways server and it'll help you to track your train down in a very efficient and reliable manner.
