bikeSMS description
bikeSMS reads the caller name (where available) or the last three digits of their number and their message to you without the need to remove helmet & gloves, pull over and check.
Features:
- App notifies you visually (toast notification) when there is no headset attached.
- Use the home key on your device to send bikeSMS to the background after starting the application.
- Notifications show current mode (wired, always on, silent)
- Can be set to read all messages without headphones if required.
Revision history:
- v1.0.6: Reads the contact display name where it matches the senders number otherwise defaults to last 3 digits of the senders number.
Auto sets the notification volume to full during reading and resets it afterwards. - v1.0.5: Now fades out music which is playing, plays the message and returns the music to the original level.
- v1.0.4: Redesigned interface, removed bluetooth front end (still silently supports AD2P), Back key now quits application, rewrote handling of messages.
- v1.0.3: Small amend to set the notification type as ongoing when the app is sent to the background
- v1.0.2: Send to background with back/home/centre button. Remove opening speech. Quit button to end app neatly. Shows connected/disconnected devices on startup. Notifications on switching modes. Further tidying of speech
- v1.0.1: Small amend to fix number being read. Now reads the last 3 digits of the callers number.
Coming next:
- Fade out other audio streams during notification
- Auto reply to SMS
- Read senders name (if available).
