RockOn v1.4.10
RockOn is a music player for Android. It has a nice all-graphic UI interface making it the player of choice if you prefer browsing your music library by album art. The main features are:
* Cool album art navigation UI
* Location-aware concert info of your library's artists (uses Last.FM API).
* One of the most effective album art fetchers we know (uses Last.FM API + other search engines).
More features will be added in the future so... stay tuned. Also, I'd love to ear your suggestions so feel free to email me.
CHANGELOG
v1.4 - v1.4 is an important release! It is the first one after RockOn has been made open source and it is also the first update in 2 months. It includes improvements to the app memory managemnt, start-up and rotation times, to the full screen mode and some other minor bug fixes. It also paves the road for important improvements that will be made in the next couple of months. Thanks to everyone that has been sending those bug reports and stay tuned for the next improvements!
v1.3.2 - numerous bug fixes
v1.2.8 - 1st attempt at doing a widget... its functional but i guess it is still far from the final form. also numerous bug fixes...
v1.2.4 - supports custom backgrounds, blurred background removed for now for performance reasons (will probably re-add it as an option during next week for those who can't live without it :-])
v1.2.2 - supports full-screen mode and higher quality album art automatic download.
v1.2.1 - supports auto-rotate, better preference handling, less bugs and more UI customization features.
v1.1.2 - supports bug reports through email directly from the phone. Thanks to Mariano Kamp for the code.
v1.1 - new translucent background. lots of bugfixes related with the headset buttons. now remembers last song played. new controls...
v1.0.18 - added playlist support. Reads all playlist formats recognized by Android, and gives also a playlist of the songs recently added. Fixed also numerous bugs and probably introduced a few more. Playlist support implied some significant changes to the code structure of RockOn so this is feature is considered experimental for now.
v1.0.14 - added support for album list view with text labels - just swipe your finger to the left and the view will show.
v1.0.13 - added support for headphone controls, included a tentative bugfix to the force close that some people still have.

It's OK. i did look the UI, and had no major problems with it. But at the end of day I do need to be able to search my 16GB Micro SD card with a search feature i hope they implement in the future. other things like an actually library view (genre, album, artists) would be nice also.
Why would anyone care about an app that values the album art over all else? How about focusing on, oh, I don't know, the MUSIC?! Playing, sorting, equalizing, you know, silly stuff like that. Pointless app.
Installed on DroidX. Couldn't get it to work properly. Control keys wouldn't show up properly. Couldn't get it to shut off. Eventually ended up deinstalling it.
I installed it on my Droid Eris 2.1 and while it looked good, I wasn't real impressed. The navigation was poor and eventually my album art wouldn't load and, since that's what the app is built around, it was a no go. Had to uninstall. Will keep an eye on it, though, and may try again. Nice looking when it worked.
A2DP... almost
It almost works... if you press several times on frw/rev button it skips songs, but not if you only press once. play/pause does not work.
Beside that, this is a really cool player, keep up the good work!
I cant really tell as I dont
I cant really tell as I dont dont have one to experiment with. You can always try it for free from http://abrantix.org/rockon.php
A2DP
Do you support A2DP ? (Bluetooth media control)
Free Version
Hi, the first version of the RockOn music player has finally been released! It was developed in order to be as good and useful as it could be, but still several aspect can (and will) be improved in the future.
I'm currently charging 2$ for the app, but if you think it is not worth it, or you simply are too cheap to pay for software... you can still get it for free @ http://abrantix.org/rockon.php (the page is ad-supported).
Hope you enjoy RockOn! I certainly enjoyed developing it!
Cheers,
