Sampler v2.0
Sampler is a small game that dares to mix teeter, pinball and music, creating a gameplay that looks like a delusional DJ's dream. Still, aims to be the casual game that promises hours of fun and entertainment ... or despair, depending on your dexterity.
Every good game needs a good plot, so... we don't really have a good one, but nevertheless here it is: Sampler is the name of a small blue pinball ball, that aspires to be a DJ, and is trapped in a crazy world where obstacles move at the sound of music.
Your goal is to move Sampler and build music mixes collecting available sound samples, avoid obstacles and get as many points you can get in the process.
Main features:
- multilanguage (actually, only EN, PT, ES and FR)
- 10 levels (all different!!)
- a blue ball (gets yellow, and red too... but avoid that)
- different music samples on every level
- a virtual joystick (yes, you are allowed to move the ball)
- a break button (you can stop it too)
- useful special powers you can pick for the blue ball (use them wise, young grasshopper)
So, have fun! ;)
FAQs
====
Q: Why the main character is a ball? A pinball ball?!
R: Is the result of several different approaches to the game plot. We have made auditions to several well known shapes, like a cube, a tetrahedron, a cuboid, a cone and even a icosahedron. The sphere beat them all on stage.
Q: Why in the hell is the ball blue?
R: There are two different theories, and for the sake of sanity we don't favor neither of them. One is evolutionary, scientists believe have found a previous missing link on fossil records proving that the blue color is an evolutionary feature that goes back to first dedocahedrons on earth, which are the ball ancestors. There's an ongoing research on the DNA of blue pinball balls that might actually prove this theory is a fact. Another theory is creationist, and postulates that it is impossible to obtain that amazingly complex blue color with evolution. They believe that such perfection could only be achieved by coding the ball that way, and the missing link found by the scientists is actually a fraud. On other hand, this approach is only possible if you have the faith that such programmer exists and this coding of the ball happened in the beginning of the world.
Q: Why the ball gets yellow when it bumps an obstacle for the first time?
R: What's with this fixation on the color of the ball? Move on dude.
Q: My left thumb hurts, can't I play this game 8 hours straight?
R: No, you cant. This is a casual game, not Second Life.
Q: How high can my HighScore get in this game?
R: The sky is the limit... no, actually we don't know, but we are pretty sure its very high.
Q: What are those special powers you refer on the features?
R: Well, with one the ball turns green (don't ask...) and then it grows up every time it hits an obstacle without losing any life and.... just kidding. Mainly there's three: a shield, a ghost mode (destroys obstacles) and pitch down mode.
Q: Who are you?
R: I'm glad you ask that question. Who are we? Stardust or earth dust? Are we a construct from our brain or is our consciousness guiding the brain? Maybe this is a virtual reality simulation, and someone is guiding us in a video game, instead of getting a life of its own. And above all, are you sure that we are not you, and you are not we, baffled in the duality of this world. Who knows? But maybe you can get some answers on the link to our site.... maybe.
Q: Can I uninstall this game from my device?
R: No.... ok, yes you can, but. Dude, why would you do that? It's so cool to have a game like this on your device. Hot girls will follow men with this app, charming hunks will follow the women who keep this app. If that didn't convince you at least consider how fashion it is to have a blue ball icon in your device. If that didn't convince you either, go ahead... sob.
